The Creation Of Excel Gymnastics Academy
Where it all began……
Like many great creations the initial idea was merely a throw away comment over a table in a Surbiton coffee shop. Then a few latte’s later as the caffeine started to kick in and the cogs in the brain began ticking the phrase “Let’s do it” came out and the rest as they say is history! That evening the brainstorming began, the map came out to pin point a starting location and then 6 months later in February 2013 the doors opened at Amesbury School in Hindhead to welcome the first members to Excel Gymnastics Academy. The Hindhead Venue has continued to grow and develop ever since with the introduction of more classes and a wider variety of sessions. In 2015 the next big step was made when it was decided to introduce a 2nd venue in a new location. We came to the decision that Chertsey would be the ideal location for our 2nd venue and in September 2015 we opened at Salesian School. With our Chertsey venue firmly establishing itself we set about introducing a 3rd venue in the Surrey area. In April 2016 we opened the doors to new members at the Lord Roberts Centre, Bisley and our most recent addition was Woolmer Hill School in Haslemere where we began running classes in April 2017. Unfortunately due to the damage caused by the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 and 2021, we were forced to close our Bisley and Chertsey venues permanently. We then set about rebuilding the club again in Hindhead.
We are always looking to develop and expand the services we offer so keep an eye out for new ventures in the future.
The Main Aim For Excel……
The aim and objective of Excel Gymnastics Academy is to be able to offer more children the opportunity to participate in the sport of gymnastics. As waiting lists continue to grow at many clubs a large number of children miss out on the opportunity to have a go. As a result it was our mission to introduce more classes so that we can offer more children in the community the chance to experience the amazing benefits that gymnastics can provide.
